Can you get a fever from anxiety?

I've been feeling very stressed and anxious lately due to work pressure. Sometimes, during these anxious spells, I notice my body temperature feels a bit elevated, like a mild fever. Is it possible for anxiety to cause this?

I often feel my face burning and my temperature goes up to 99.5 whenever I have an exam or a big meeting. Does this happen to anyone else, or should I get a proper blood test done?

Anxiety can definitely make your body feel hot and raise your heart rate. If you have diabetes, stress and anxiety can also make your sugar levels go up, which makes you feel even more sick. Keep your diet clean and consult your doctor.

I used to panic and run to the clinic with a thermometer every time I had a panic attack, thinking I had a severe infection. It turns out psychogenic fever is a real thing and your body temperature can actually rise due to stress. Once I calmed down, it went back to normal.

Please be careful. I once ignored a low-grade fever thinking it was just work stress and anxiety, but it turned out to be a chronic viral infection that got worse because I delayed treatment. Get a proper physical checkup to be absolutely sure.

I know exactly how exhausting this is, your mind is racing and your body literally feels like it is on fire. People told me it was just in my head, but the physical heat was very real. Please be gentle with yourself, it is a real response to emotional overload.

My mother always tells me to sit quietly, drink some cold water, and practice deep breathing when anxiety strikes. If your body temperature still remains high even after calming down, it is best to visit a doctor to rule out any actual infection.

Yes, extreme stress can absolutely raise your body temperature. It is called a psychogenic fever.
