Can you feel ovulation pain?

Since a few months, I've been feeling a sharp, one-sided pain around mid-cycle. My friend told me it might be ovulation pain. Is it actually possible to feel something like that so distinctly?

Ha behan, bilkul mehsus hota hai. Mujhe toh har mahine pet ke ek side thoda meetha dard hota hi hai. Sabka sharir alag hai, toh chinta mat karo, yeh bohot aam baat hai.

I totally get it, initially main bhi bohot dar gayi thi jab pet mein ek side achanak sharp pain hota tha. It is actually called Mittelschmerz pain and millions of women feel it every month. You are definitely not alone in this.

Actually yes, I felt it severely just last week during the middle of my cycle. I had this cramping on my left lower belly that lasted for almost a day, but it went away naturally. For me, keeping a warm heating pad on my stomach really helped ease the ache.

Hey, relax, don't worry too much. It's just your body's natural way of telling you that it is working fine. Keep track of your dates on an app, and if the pain gets too heavy, just go and show it to a gynaecologist once to be completely sure.

My doctor explained that when the follicle ruptures to release the egg, it can cause mild bleeding or fluid irritation in the pelvic cavity. That is why we feel that brief ache or cramp on one side of the lower abdomen. But she warned that if the pain is severe or accompanied by fever, we must get a proper pelvic ultrasound done.
