Can you feel a fatty liver?

Recently had some blood tests, and the doctor mentioned my liver enzymes were a bit off, suggesting a possibility of fatty liver. Been feeling a slight discomfort on my right side sometimes. Wondering, can you actually feel a fatty liver from the outside, like a lump or pain?

Generally, you can't feel fatty liver in its early stages, which is why it is called a silent issue. Just like how I manage my thyroid with regular blood tests, you should get an ultrasound and LFT done periodically. Regular doctor follow-ups are the only real way to track it.

Actually, you don't feel anything at all in the beginning, yaar. I only found out about my Grade 1 fatty liver during a routine corporate health checkup. If you start feeling actual pain on the right side of your stomach, it means you need to consult a doctor immediately.

Fatty liver is highly common if you have insulin resistance or diabetes, and it rarely shows clear physical symptoms early on. I have to be extremely careful with my carb and sugar intake to manage both. Please consult your physician and get an ultrasound done instead of waiting for symptoms.

Usually, fatty liver has no symptoms until it progresses, though some people report a dull, heavy feeling in the upper right abdomen. The best practical approach is to get a liver function test and consult a doctor. Don't worry, with proper diet changes, it is very manageable.

Most of the time you can't feel it, which is the scary part because we keep eating all the deep-fried goodies! But if you feel a heavy bloating or constant fullness, it might be a sign. Better to get a quick test done and talk to a doctor so you can plan your meals safely.

You won't feel any direct pain unless it becomes severe, but mild fatigue is sometimes a hidden sign. If your doctor allows, starting regular brisk walking and reducing oily foods can help reverse it. Definitely get a professional checkup first to see where you stand.
