Can you exfoliate eczema?

Have patches of eczema on my arms and legs, and sometimes my skin feels really rough and flaky. I use moisturizers, but wondering if gentle exfoliation could help remove the dead skin. Is it okay to exfoliate areas affected by eczema?

I have seen many people make the mistake of scrubbing their eczema thinking it will remove the dry skin, but it actually makes the inflammation much worse. Eczema skin has a damaged barrier, so physically exfoliating it is a big no-no. It is much better to focus on deep moisturization with a gentle, doctor-approved cream.

Bhai, bilkul mat scrub karna. Scratch karne se skin aur kharab ho jayegi aur dard badh jayega. Humare doctor ne hamesha naram kapda aur thanda paani lagane ko bola hai, koi bhi scrub ya chemical mat lagao.

Actually, exfoliating eczema is a terrible idea, yaar. It completely ruins your skin barrier and can lead to nasty infections. Just stick to a super gentle cleanser and loads of moisturizer, and ask your dermatologist for a proper steroid or soothing cream.

Better to keep the scrubs for kitchen cleaning, not your skin! When you have eczema, your skin is already super sensitive, so scrubbing it is like putting red chili on a wound. Just keep it cool, drink lots of water, and let a skin specialist guide you.

I was just reading about this yesterday because my skin gets really flaky too. Apparently, scrubbing eczema skin just triggers more flare-ups and redness because the skin underneath is already raw. Most skin experts online suggest strictly avoiding any physical scrubs or harsh acids.

Beta, never rub or scratch skin that is already red and dry from eczema. In our house, we use a little organic coconut oil gently to soothe the dryness, but never scrub it. For proper treatment, you must consult a good skin doctor.
