Can you eat strawberries with type 2 diabetes?

My doctor recently diagnosed me with Type 2 diabetes, and I'm trying to figure out what all I can eat. I love strawberries, especially now that they are in season, so wondering if they are okay or if I should avoid them completely?

Yes, absolutely. Strawberries have a low glycemic index and are packed with antioxidants, making them great for diabetics in moderate amounts.

Bro, don't stress too much! Strawberries are actually super safe and highly recommended for diabetics. Just eat them fresh and in decent portions, and you are totally good to go. Enjoy your fruit!

At least there is one sweet thing my doctor hasn't completely banned me from eating! Strawberries are low in carbs, so I enjoy a few with some plain dahi. Just don't dip them in chocolate or sugar syrup like they do on TV!

I can only share what works for me. As a type 2 diabetic, I eat 4-5 fresh strawberries as an afternoon snack and it has never caused a spike in my blood sugar tracker. I always avoid canned or sweetened strawberry products though.

My doctor at Max Hospital told me that strawberries are actually one of the best fruits for diabetics because of their low sugar content. However, everyone's body reacts differently. Please discuss your daily fruit portions with your endocrinologist during your next visit.
