Can you drink beer with kidney stones?

I suffer from recurring kidney stones, and it's a constant struggle. I recently read online that drinking beer can sometimes help pass kidney stones, but it sounds counter-intuitive to me. Is there any truth to this, or should I definitely avoid beer?

My uncle used to say drinking beer will flush out the stone, but when I got a 6mm stone, my doctor strictly said no. Alcohol actually dehydrates you, which can make the stone pain worse. I just stuck to warm water and tender coconut water.

My urologist explained that while beer is a diuretic, it also contains oxalates which can actually contribute to forming more kidney stones. So drinking beer is counterproductive. Stick to water and prescribed alkalizers.

When I visited Fortis for my stones, the doctor clearly explained that alcohol increases uric acid levels. Please ask your doctor before making any assumptions based on what people say.

Don't trust these random WhatsApp and internet tips about beer curing kidney stones. Verify with a urologist. If the stone is too big, beer won't help and might just cause more pain.

I get so anxious thinking about kidney stones, the pain is supposed to be terrible! Please don't experiment with beer, what if it triggers a severe attack? Just stick to safe liquids and keep your doctor's number handy.

I tried the beer trick last year when I had a small stone and honestly, it made my back ache like crazy. The doctor scolded me later and told me to just drink 3 liters of water daily. Water is the only thing that actually works.

Look, simple baat hai. Beer is not medicine. If you have a kidney stone, drink lots of water and take the doctor's prescription. Don't use kidney stone as an excuse to drink alcohol.

I know it sounds like a fun excuse to have a chilled beer, but trust me, the pain isn't worth it. Better to stick to fresh lime juice (no sugar) or coconut water for now. Save the beer for when you are fully recovered!

Haan, log bolte hain beer peeyo stone nikal jayega, but that is a big myth, na. Dehydration ho jati hai usse ulta. Best to drink plain water and follow what the doctor says.

Actually, beer makes you pee a lot but it also dehydrates the body, yaar. It can make the stone track even more painful. Just stick to water and avoid alcohol till it clears out.
