Can you donate plasma if you have hepatitis c?

My neighbour was talking about donating plasma, and I was interested, but I had hepatitis C many years ago and was treated successfully. I'm wondering, can you donate plasma if you have hepatitis C in your history?

I remember panicking when I first learned about donation rules after a health scare, but honestly, it is very straightforward. If you have ever tested positive for Hepatitis C, you cannot donate plasma. It is a safety measure to protect recipients, and it's totally normal for clinics to have this rule.

Hepatitis C blood-borne infection hai, toh donation bilkul allowed nahi hota, haan na. Even if you are cured now, blood banks usually have a lifetime ban on this. Apni health par dhyan do pehle, wahi sabse important hai.

From what I understand about chronic health issues, the medical screening for donors is incredibly strict to prevent any harm to vulnerable patients. With Hepatitis C, standard blood bank protocols require a permanent deferral. Please consult a hepatologist to keep an eye on your own liver health instead.

Yeah, pretty sure you can't donate if you've had Hep C. They screen all the blood and plasma really carefully for viral infections, so this is an automatic red flag. It's cool that you wanted to help, but this one is a hard pass.

I haven't slept in 24 hours, but even my tired brain knows this one. No clinic is going to accept plasma from someone with Hep C because of the transmission risk. Best to stay home, get some sleep, and let others handle the donating.
