Can you donate a liver while alive?

My friend's father needs a liver transplant. Someone mentioned living donation, which sounds very brave. I want to understand more – can you donate a liver while alive, and what are the risks involved for the donor?

Yes, you actually can! The liver is like a high-tech lizard tail—you cut a piece off, and it just grows right back. So don't worry, you won't be left running on half an engine forever!

I didn't know this was possible until recently. If a living person donates a part of their liver, how long does it actually take for it to grow back to its original size? I'd love to know if anyone here has gone through this.

I remember getting super anxious when my family was discussing a liver transplant for a relative. But once we met the doctors, they explained that living donation is highly successful and very safe. The liver regenerates almost completely in about 8 to 12 weeks, which is amazing.

Yes, living donation is possible, but it is a massive surgery. You must keep your liver in peak condition beforehand with a simple, toxin-free diet and natural juices. For all the surgical details and checking if you are a match, please consult a proper transplant hospital.

Beta, the human body is a miracle of God. Yes, a living person can donate a portion of their liver to save a life, and the body heals itself beautifully. Eat simple home-cooked meals and rest well to recover fully after such noble deeds.

My family was initially very hesitant when we explored this option for a cousin. But our family doctor explained how safe the procedure is and how beautifully the liver regrows. We put our trust in the medical team and everything went very smoothly.

Yes, living liver donation is a standard procedure now. We only take a portion of the liver, and within a few months, it regenerates to nearly its full size in both donor and recipient. Just ensure you undergo the proper pre-transplant workup at a certified hospital.
