Can you donate a kidney and still live?

A relative of mine needs a kidney transplant, and I'm considering donating. I'm just curious, is it possible to donate a kidney and still live a normal, healthy life afterward? I'm worried about the long-term impact.

Yes, medically speaking, a healthy person can lead a perfectly normal, full life with just one kidney. The remaining kidney naturally enlarges to take over the work of both. However, a thorough medical evaluation by transplant specialists is mandatory before proceeding.

Yes, kidney donation is very common and donors live long lives. But just like managing thyroid, it requires regular health checkups and blood tests every year to monitor your kidney function. Continuous follow-ups with your doctor are key to long-term wellness.

My close friend donated his kidney to his brother almost twenty-five years ago. Today, they are both retired, active, and absolutely fine in their late 60s. With a disciplined lifestyle and clean habits, you can live a very normal and happy life.

While it is true that people live normally with one kidney, you must get all your medical tests done first. Your own kidney function and overall health must be 100% perfect to ensure you face no risks later. Always go to a reputed hospital for this.
