Can you die from lack of sleep?

Aaj kal kaam ke chakkar mein meri neend bilkul poori nahi ho rahi hai. Daily sirf 4-5 ghante so pata hoon. Kya itni kam neend se meri health ko koi serious khatra ho sakta hai?

Please don't worry. Sleeping poorly for a few nights won't cause you any serious harm. Try to take it easy tonight and get some rest.

While immediate death from sleep deprivation is extremely rare, it can drastically increase the risk of road accidents or sudden heart issues. If you are experiencing severe, prolonged insomnia, please get it checked by a specialist for your safety.

If staying awake could kill us, then every engineering student in India would have been gone by now! Don't worry, your brain will force you to pass out long before anything bad happens. Put the phone away and close your eyes.

Arey, no need to buy expensive sleep machines or pills. Just wash your face and feet with cool water, switch off the TV, and keep your room completely dark. A simple routine works wonders for a deep, natural sleep.

Honestly, I have been surviving on 4 hours of sleep and cold coffee for the last three years because of my IT shifts. I feel like a zombie and my eyes burn, but I am still very much alive. It won't kill you, but it definitely ruins your mood.

True, a few bad nights won't kill you. Drinking a warm cup of chamomile tea or milk before bed really helped me break my insomnia cycle.

As a diabetic, I have to be careful because poor sleep immediately spikes my fasting blood sugar levels the next morning. While a few sleepless nights won't kill you, chronic sleep deprivation can seriously disrupt your insulin sensitivity and metabolism.

No, you cannot die directly from a few sleepless nights. However, chronic lack of sleep can impact your long-term cardiovascular health, so try to rest.

Beta, in my youth during family functions or when the kids were babies, I went days with barely any sleep. Our bodies are very resilient and nothing bad happens. Just have some warm milk, relax your mind, and you will sleep well tonight.

I consulted a physician at a leading hospital for my chronic insomnia last month. He explained that while temporary sleep deprivation isn't fatal, chronic sleep issues need to be properly evaluated to rule out sleep apnea. Please consult a doctor.
