Can you die from a panic attack in your sleep?

Lately, I've been having panic attacks, and sometimes I even wake up feeling extremely anxious and short of breath. I worry a lot if a panic attack can happen in my sleep and lead to something serious, like death.

No, a panic attack cannot kill you, even if it happens during sleep. It is just your body's adrenaline response, and it will pass safely.

No way, you won't die from it! Your body is just playing a very mean prank on you by waking you up with a racing heart. It feels like you're fighting a tiger, but physically you are completely safe. Just drink some water and tell your brain to chill out.

Actually no, yaar, you cannot die from a panic attack. It feels super scary, like you are literally suffocating, but it's just your flight-or-fight mode getting triggered in your sleep. Just sit up, drink some cold water, and wash your face. You'll be totally fine.

I have woken up gasping for air with my heart pounding so fast, and honestly, in that moment, I was convinced I was dying. It is incredibly traumatizing and scary, but please know that you are physically safe. Your body is just releasing anxiety, and you will survive this.

I used to run to the emergency room at 2 AM thinking I was having a heart attack from these night panics. Once the doctors explained it was just a nocturnal panic attack, I stopped worrying. Now when it happens, I just take deep breaths and it goes away in ten minutes.

No, not at all! It's just a temporary rush of anxiety, and your heart is completely strong enough to handle it. Try listening to some soothing music or doing a quick breathing exercise before sleeping. You've got this! 💖

I woke up last night sweating and shivering, and my chest felt so tight. Is that really just a panic attack and not a heart issue? Should I see a counselor for this or go to a regular doctor first to get my heart checked?
