Can you die from a kidney infection?

A severe kidney infection recently put me through a very painful and scary experience. While I'm recovering, I'm still a bit anxious and wanted to know if a kidney infection, if not treated properly, can lead to death.

Bro, a kidney infection is no joke. I had a severe UTI that spread to my kidneys because I ignored it, and the back pain and fever were absolutely brutal. The doctor told me if the bacteria enters the bloodstream, it can cause sepsis, which is life-threatening. Don't ignore it, get antibiotics immediately.

Listen, yes, a kidney infection can become dangerous if left untreated because the infection can spread. But don't scare yourself too much. If you see a doctor quickly, a simple course of antibiotics usually clears it right up. Just get it checked and drink plenty of water.

Look, kidney infections are highly treatable, but if you sit at home and do nothing, yes, it can turn fatal. If you have lower back pain, burning during urination, and a high fever, go to a doctor today. Don't waste time on home remedies for this.

Yes, an untreated kidney infection can lead to a blood infection called sepsis, which can be fatal. When my sister had high fever with side pain, the hospital doctors admitted her and started IV antibiotics immediately. Please don't rely on online advice; consult a doctor at a proper clinic or hospital.

Yes, a kidney infection can be fatal, especially for diabetics because our immune systems are weaker and kidney complications can arise faster. If you have diabetes and notice any fever or back pain, get a urine culture done immediately under a doctor's supervision.

Yeah, kidney infections are actually pretty dangerous if you just ignore them. The bacteria can get into your blood, which is a major emergency. If you've got a bad fever and pain in your side, don't wait around, just go to a clinic and get some antibiotics.

An untreated kidney infection, or pyelonephritis, can lead to renal scarring, chronic kidney disease, or life-threatening systemic sepsis. It is critical to obtain a proper diagnosis through a urine test and complete the full course of antibiotics as prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional.

I didn't know that a urine infection could spread to the kidneys and become so dangerous. My friend has been having back pain and fever for two days now. Should we take her to the emergency room or is a regular clinic doctor fine for this?

Yes, it can get dangerous. I've been having this dull ache in my lower back and burning when I pee, and I'm honestly so scared it's a kidney infection. Did anyone else feel shivering or nauseous with this? I think I need to see a doctor immediately.

While drinking barley water and cranberry juice can help flush out minor urine infections, a proper kidney infection is very serious and can be life-threatening if it spreads. You must take the proper antibiotics prescribed by a doctor. Don't try to cure a kidney infection at home.
