Can you die from a fever?

My young daughter has a very high fever, and while we are giving her medicine, I'm always scared by how hot she gets. I keep wondering if a fever can ever become so severe that it could be fatal.

I completely understand why you are asking this, it can be so terrifying when a family member has a very high temperature and won't stop shivering. While a normal fever won't kill you, an extremely high fever from severe infections like dengue or meningitis can be dangerous if ignored. Your anxiety is completely valid, please stay strong.

Bhai, ghabraiye mat.

Honestly, when I had that viral fever last month, I felt like I was meeting my ancestors every time the chills hit. But realistically, a common fever won't kill you unless it's a massive untreated infection. Just drink your coconut water, take paracetamol if the doc told you to, and sleep it off.

When my father had a severe fever, the doctors at the hospital told us that fever is just our body's way of fighting infection, not a disease itself. However, if the fever is accompanied by difficulty breathing, confusion, or severe headache, you must go to the emergency room immediately. Don't take chances, ask your doctor clearly.

Arre, at my age, even a sneeze feels like a life-or-death situation! But jokes aside, a regular fever won't do much harm. Just make sure the temperature doesn't cross 103 or 104 degrees, because that can get tricky. Keep a thermometer handy and keep checking.

A simple fever is not dangerous, beta. We always use ginger-tulsi tea and put wet cloth strips on the forehead to bring the heat down. But if the fever is very high or if there is severe vomiting, home remedies won't work, and you must take them to a doctor immediately.

Actually, a normal viral fever is totally fine, yaar. It's only when the fever is a symptom of something severe like malaria or typhoid that it can get risky if you don't treat it. Just don't self-medicate too much and get a blood test if it lasts more than 3 days.

Bro, dont stress. A basic fever is just your body fighting off some random virus. Unless you have like a super high 104 fever that won't go down even after taking meds, you are going to be totally fine. Just eat some khichdi and rest up.

Look, if a fever is running high for more than 48 hours, don't wait around waiting for it to cure itself. Book an online doctor consultation during your lunch break and get a basic blood panel done. It saves time and prevents any severe underlying infections from getting out of hand.

I used to panic and run to the hospital even if my body temperature hit 99 degrees. But my family doctor reassured me that a fever is actually a good sign that your immune system is working. Just monitor it, keep hydrated, and you'll see it's completely normal and manageable.

If you have underlying conditions like diabetes, a fever can sometimes mess up your blood sugar levels quite badly. It's not the fever itself that is fatal, but the stress it puts on a diabetic body. Keep checking your glucose levels and talk to your physician if you feel very weak.

As a mother, my heart sinks every time my child gets a high fever. But I've learned that we just need to keep them comfortable, do cold sponging on their forehead, and consult the pediatrician if it doesn't go down in two days. Just stay calm and watch for any red flags like vomiting or extreme lethargy.
