Can you develop type one diabetes as an adult?

Being 36, I've been experiencing extreme fatigue and unexplained weight loss for the past few months. My blood tests showed high sugar, and the doctor said it could be Type 1 diabetes, which I always thought was a childhood condition. Is it possible for adults to get it?

Haan na, it can definitely happen to adults too. People usually think only small kids get Type 1, but actually that's not true. If you are feeling too tired or losing weight without any reason, doc se milkar ek baar test karva lo, safer side pe.

Yes, it is possible. If you are worried about the medical bills, just know that insulin and basic diabetic care are available at very nominal rates in government Jan Aushadhi Kendras now. Don't delay your diagnosis because of expenses; start with a simple doctor consult.

Yes, you can develop Type 1 as an adult; it's an autoimmune issue, so it's different from Type 2 which is more lifestyle-based. While regular workouts and a clean protein-rich diet won't cure Type 1, they definitely help you manage your insulin sensitivity much better. Keep active!

Look, straight talk—yes, you can get Type 1 even as an adult. Don't sit and search symptoms on the internet all day because that will only scare you. Just go to a proper laboratory, get your blood test done, and show it to an endocrinologist.

Aiyyo, yes! When you cross 45, you feel like your body is just looking for excuses to find a new issue. Type 1 in adults is rare but real. If you are suddenly drinking three liters of water in one hour, stop searching online and go to the clinic, okay?

Yeah bro, u can actually get it as an adult too. I read a thread on this recently because my friend's elder brother got diagnosed at 26. He thought it was just exam stress but turns out it was Type 1. Better to get checked if you feel weird.
