Can you contract malaria from another person?

I'm planning a trip to a region where malaria is quite common, and I'm trying to take all precautions. While I know mosquitoes are the main cause, I was wondering if it's possible to contract malaria directly from another person who has it. Can it be transmitted human-to-human?

Absolutely not. I had malaria last year and my wife slept in the same room without getting it. It only spreads through the bite of an infected female Anopheles mosquito, not from person to person. Just focus on mosquito control in your house.

No bro, you can't catch malaria from someone sitting next to you. It's not like a cold or flu. A mosquito has to bite an infected person first and then bite you to transmit it. So just use a good mosquito repellent.

Unless that person is secretly a giant mosquito trying to bite you, you're safe! Jokes aside, malaria is not contagious. You can hug or share food with a malaria patient without any issues, just keep the real mosquitoes away.

Nope! You can't catch malaria directly from another human being. It always needs a mosquito to act as the delivery agent. So keep your surroundings clean and use those plug-in repellents! 🦟✨

My daughter had malaria during the monsoons, and we were so worried it would spread to our younger son. Our doctor explained that it's completely safe to be around them. Just make sure to use mosquito nets and keep your house free of stagnant water.
