Can you contract diabetes?

Many people in my family, including my parents, have diabetes, so I'm always very careful about my diet. I sometimes worry if it's something I can 'contract' like an infection. Is diabetes something that can be transmitted from person to person?

Hey! Actually, diabetes is not something you can "catch" or contract like a cold or viral fever! It is a lifestyle and genetic thing. So don't worry, you won't get it just by being around someone who has it. 😊

Dekho boss, diabetes koi infectious disease nahi hai jo touch karne se ya sath khane se failegi. Yeh toh hamari body ke insulin system aur kharab lifestyle ki wajah se hoti hai. Faltu ki tension mat lo aur basic health par dhyan do.

Please don't go by what random people say on social media or WhatsApp groups about catching diabetes. It's medically impossible to contract it from someone else. Always check with a proper physician if you want to understand how insulin resistance actually works.

I have PCOS and dealing with insulin issues is a daily struggle, so I understand your curiosity. But no, you absolutely cannot contract it from another person. Just focus on your diet, keep your hormones in check, and stay stress-free.

My doctor explained this clearly when we were discussing my family history. Diabetes is metabolic, meaning it's about how your pancreas functions and how your body uses glucose. It is non-communicable, so there is zero chance of catching it from others.
