Can you catch hepatitis c from another person?

Someone I know has Hepatitis C, and now I'm thinking about how it might affect people around them. I wanted to clarify: can you actually catch Hepatitis C directly from another person, or is it spread differently?

Yes, you can catch it from another person, but only if their infected blood enters your bloodstream. Casual contact like hugging, shaking hands, or sharing food is completely safe. Just be careful about sharing personal items like razors or nail cutters.

Yes, you can, but it is blood-borne. As someone who has to take regular insulin shots for my diabetes, I am extremely careful about using brand-new, sterile needles every single time. Never share any sharp items that could carry blood traces.

I am new to reading about this and it is a bit confusing. If it only spreads through blood, does that mean sharing a cup of tea or a spoon with someone who has Hepatitis C is 100% safe? I want to make sure I understand correctly.

Haan bhai, bilkul spread ho sakta hai ek se doosre person ko, par sirf blood-to-blood contact se. Aise saath baithne se ya gale milne se nahi hota na. So public spaces ya ghar pe normal reh sakte ho, bas hygiene ka thoda dhyan rakhna.

Yes, it can spread, but don't worry—it's not airborne like a cold! 😊 It strictly requires blood contact. So as long as you avoid sharing things like toothbrushes or razors, you are perfectly safe around them!
