Can you burst blood vessels in your face from vomiting?

After a bad stomach infection last week, I had a lot of vomiting. The next day, I noticed small red spots around my eyes and on my cheeks. Is it possible to burst blood vessels in your face from too much vomiting?

Yes, you can. My daughter had a severe stomach flu and the violent vomiting caused tiny red spots, called petechiae, to appear all over her cheeks. The doctor assured us they were just tiny burst blood vessels from the strain and would fade on their own in a few days. Just keep them hydrated.

Throwing up is such an intense full-body workout that even your facial blood vessels decide to quit! Yes, those little red dots are very common after dry heaving. Just wear a mask if you're conscious, and wait for a few days; they'll vanish.

Don't worry too much, beta. I have seen this happen many times over the years after a bad bout of vomiting. Those tiny red spots on the face and around the eyes are harmless and heal by themselves without any special creams. Just rest and let your stomach settle.

Yes, this is very common due to the pressure build-up. A simple and practical thing to do is apply a cold compress or a clean cloth dipped in ice water to your face. It helps soothe the skin and reduces any mild swelling or redness quickly.

Oh, absolutely. After a long night of food poisoning and zero sleep, I woke up looking like a spotted leopard. The pressure from throwing up is insane and literally pops those tiny facial vessels. It looks scary but thankfully disappears after a couple of days.

The pressure from vomiting can indeed strain the delicate capillaries of the face. To prevent such physical strain in the future, practicing deep, calm breathing can help soothe the abdominal muscles. For now, let your body rest and wash your face gently with cool water.
