Can you become diabetic from not eating?

Because of my busy work schedule, I often skip meals, sometimes just forgetting to eat properly. A friend recently warned me that not eating enough or having irregular meals can lead to diabetes. I'm a bit worried about this, is it possible?

Not eating or extreme fasting actually messes up your metabolism and can cause insulin resistance over time. I used to skip meals constantly, which only ruined my blood sugar control. Eat small, balanced meals at regular intervals to keep things stable.

Skipping meals can cause your blood sugar to crash and then spike heavily when you finally eat. This constant fluctuation puts pressure on your pancreas. It’s better to eat small portions of fiber-rich vegetarian food on time.

I was looking this up online because my friend often skips breakfast. Apparently, prolonged fasting or starvation can trigger the liver to release stored glucose, raising blood sugar levels unexpectedly. It’s quite fascinating but risky if done regularly.

The body needs regular nourishment to maintain its natural rhythm. Starving causes stress to the internal organs, which can disturb insulin production. Gentle yoga and timely, satvik meals are best for long-term health.

Honestly, skipping dinner just makes me super cranky and then I end up eating three biscuits at midnight. That chaotic routine is definitely bad for sugar levels. Save yourself the stress and just eat a simple meal on time!

I asked my endocrinologist about intermittent fasting, and he warned that starving yourself can disrupt hormone levels. If you are prone to diabetes, irregular eating habits can make it worse. Please consult a qualified doctor before trying extreme diets.
