Can you be insulin resistant and not have diabetes?

My doctor told me that I have insulin resistance during a routine check-up, but clarified that I don't have diabetes. I was a bit confused by this. Is it possible to be insulin resistant and not have diabetes yet?

Haan na, people get so confused about this! Actually, insulin resistance is like a warning bell that comes much before diabetes. If we change our lifestyle now, we can reverse it completely. Thoda diet control aur walking chalu karo, sab theek ho jayega.

Absolutely yes. I ignored my weight gain and fatigue for years, thinking I was fine because my fasting sugar was okay. By the time I got a proper fasting insulin test, I was highly insulin resistant and right on the edge of diabetes. Please go get tested properly before it turns into full diabetes.

Yes, dear, you can definitely have insulin resistance without having full-blown diabetes. Think of it as your body working double-time to keep your sugars normal. Many of my family members managed to reverse this stage just with regular meals and reducing maida and sugar.

Oh, tell me about it! I have this and my doctor told me to cut down on my late-night biryani cravings. It's not diabetes yet, but my body is basically struggling to process all the yummy carbs. Now I have to swap my regular desserts with low-sugar options, which is so tough.

I went to a top hospital in Delhi for my checkup, and they explained that insulin resistance is the pre-step where your blood sugar levels are still normal but your insulin is sky-high. Don't rely on online advice; ask your doctor to order a fasting insulin test alongside HbA1c.

Arre, insulin resistance is basically our body's way of saying 'no more samosas please!' Your pancreas is producing insulin but the cells are ignoring it. It's not diabetes yet, but it's definitely a sign that we need to start moving our lazy bones a bit.

Honestly, my sleep cycle is so messed up that my doctor said it's making my insulin resistance worse. I don't have diabetes, but waking up tired and craving sugar at 2 AM is a daily struggle. Trying to fix my sleep before my body completely gives up on me.

Yes, but don't take it lightly because it can quickly progress to Type 2 diabetes. I had severe neuropathy issues starting even before my HbA1c showed diabetic levels. Please consult a good endocrinologist and get a proper treatment plan started.

Actually yaar, so many girls with PCOS have insulin resistance but their sugar levels are perfectly normal. It's basically a warning sign. If you start strength training and cut down on processed carbs, you can easily manage it.
