Can you be hypoglycemic without diabetes?

My younger sister occasionally gets very shaky and lightheaded, and her doctor once said it might be low blood sugar. She doesn't have diabetes, so it confused us. Is it possible to be hypoglycemic without diabetes?

Yes, you can. I have high BP and have seen my sugar drop occasionally when I skip meals or over-exert myself. It's all about lifestyle management. Keep checking your levels regularly and discuss this with your physician during your routine checkups.

Haan bilkul, humare padosi ko bhi yahi bimari thi par unko sugar nahi tha. Wo bas samay par khana khate hain aur hamesha jeb me thodi kishmish rakhte hain. Aap chinta mat kijiye, acche doctor ko dikha lijiye sab theek ho jayega.

Yes, it is definitely possible. My sister has this and she manages it simply by eating small meals throughout the day.

Actually yaar, it can happen if you are dieting too hard or fasting. I had these crazy blackouts and got super scared, but the doctor said it's just non-diabetic hypoglycemia. Just eat regular meals and don't skip breakfast, simple as that!

Please be very careful with this. I once ignored my low sugar levels thinking it was just fatigue, and I ended up fainting while driving. It can be caused by underlying hormonal issues or liver problems, so please get a proper medical evaluation done immediately.

Yes, I deal with this too! I used to get super dizzy during my morning college lectures. My doc told me to carry roasted chana or a banana in my bag. Eating small bites every few hours really keeps the sugar levels stable without any major medication.

I know how scary it is when your heart starts racing and you feel completely weak for no reason. It made me so anxious to step out of the house. Just know that you are not alone, and once you figure out your safe food triggers, it gets much easier to manage.

My teenage daughter has this issue where her sugar drops if she plays sports without eating first. We got all tests done and she is perfectly non-diabetic. I always pack a juice box and peanut butter sandwiches in her school bag now, which completely prevents the drops.
