If it is your true calling to serve the public, keep a positive mind. Take care of your breathing through light pranayama to strengthen your lungs, and consult a doctor to see how much physical strain your body can safely handle.
Please be very careful before preparing for the police physical exams. The running and endurance tests are extremely demanding and can trigger severe attacks if your asthma is not fully controlled. Please get a proper spirometry test and consult a pulmonologist for safety.
My uncle, who retired from the police force, told me that physical training in the academy is brutal, especially the early morning runs in winter. He advised that mild, controlled asthma might pass the medical board, but it is always best to trust the official medical officer's final decision.
It mostly depends on whether your asthma is active or history-based. If your lung function tests (PFT) are completely normal and you don't need daily inhalers, you have a good chance of clearing the medical round. Just carry your medical history documents clearly.
Actually yaar, police training involves so much running and outdoor dust, it can be super tough for someone with asthma. If your medical reports show any breathing issues during the physical tests, they might disqualify you. Better to get it treated properly first.
