Can you bake liver?

My mother usually makes fried liver, but I'm looking for a healthier cooking method. Can you bake liver, and if so, how does it typically taste and turn out?

Yeah bro, you can totally bake liver, but honestly, it gets super dry and rubbery if you overdo it. I tried baking chicken liver in my hostel OTG once and it tasted like leather. Better to pan-fry it with some onions and basic spices instead.

Yes, you can bake it, but you must cover it with foil and add some water or broth so it stays moist. Baking it at around 180 degrees for just 15-20 minutes is more than enough. Adding a bit of ginger-garlic paste and mustard oil keeps it soft.

Baking is a very clean way to cook, but since liver is a very delicate organ meat, too much dry heat spoils its nutritional value. In our family, we prefer a light, slow steam or a very gentle sauté with warming spices like cumin and turmeric.

Haan na, if you bake it directly, it becomes so hard to chew. My mother-in-law always marinates it in curd for an hour before cooking, which makes it very soft. If you want to bake, just wrap it in parchment paper with some butter and spices, ho na.

You can bake it, but honestly, baking uses a lot of electricity in an oven compared to a simple gas stove. A quick pan-sauté on your gas burner is much cheaper, faster, and actually tastes better than dried-out baked liver.

Yes, you can bake it, but keep the cooking time low. I make baked liver and onions twice a week for my gym diet because it's high in protein. Just brush it with olive oil, put it in at 190C, and pull it out as soon as the pinkness in the center is gone.

I completely understand the struggle of trying to make liver taste good when you need it for iron deficiency. It is so hard to eat because of the strong taste and texture. Baking it with a thick layer of sliced onions and tomatoes can help mask that smell a bit.

While liver is highly nutritious for those who eat meat, please be careful with how much vitamin A you are consuming from it, as it is extremely concentrated. If you are baking it, avoid using heavy cream or excessive butter to keep the overall cholesterol in check.
