Can xylitol gum reverse cavities?

My dentist suggested I try xylitol gum for better dental health. He said it can help with cavities. Can xylitol gum really reverse existing cavities, or is it more for prevention?

Xylitol gum is good for preventing new decay because it stops bad bacteria. But reversing an actual deep cavity? No app or gum can track and fix that. Once there is a physical hole, you need a proper dental filling.

I know how stressful dental pain can be, I used to panic at every little tooth sensitivity. Xylitol gum can help remineralize very early enamel damage, but it won't fix a real cavity. Please see a dentist so you don't have to keep worrying.

Xylitol gum won't cure a proper cavity once it's formed. Just like managing my blood pressure, dental health requires regular checkups and a clean lifestyle, not just quick fixes. Go get it checked by a doctor.

I actually asked my dentist about this last month when I got my cavity filled. She told me xylitol gum only helps protect teeth from future decay by reducing acid, but it absolutely cannot reverse a cavity that is already there.

Xylitol gum is okay for keeping your mouth fresh and reducing bacteria, but it cannot reverse deep tooth decay. I usually try oil pulling with coconut oil for mild gum health, but if you have a real cavity and pain, go straight to a dentist.

Don't depend on chewing gum to fix this. I ignored a small toothache once thinking gum and home remedies would heal it, and ended up needing a painful root canal later. Please visit a dentist before it gets worse.
