Can vinegar help eczema?

My son has mild eczema patches, and they get quite itchy. I've heard that apple cider vinegar diluted in water can help. Can vinegar really help eczema symptoms like itching and dryness?

Unless you want to smell like a Chinese food stall and cry from the burning sensation, please keep the vinegar in the kitchen! It might have some mild antibacterial properties when highly diluted, but it's really not worth the risk of setting your skin on fire.

I know how exhausting and painful eczema can be, especially when you are desperate for relief. But vinegar can be extremely harsh on sensitive skin. Please be gentle with yourself and stick to mild moisturizers recommended by a specialist.

Do not trust these random internet remedies claiming vinegar helps skin conditions. Eczema requires proper barrier repair, and vinegar is highly acidic, which can destroy whatever skin barrier you have left. Get it checked by a professional.

Honestly, trying home remedies like vinegar is just a waste of time and can backfire badly. Save yourself the trouble and book a quick dermatologist consultation. A proper medicated ointment will clear it up much faster.

Oh my god, I get so anxious about trying anything new on my skin because of flare-ups! If you really want to try apple cider vinegar, please dilute it heavily and do a patch test first. But honestly, just asking a doctor is so much safer.
