Can varicose vein cause leg pain?

I've been diagnosed with varicose veins in my left leg, and now I'm getting a lot of pain there. Could the varicose veins be causing this leg pain? It feels like a constant ache.

Oh absolutely, they make your legs feel like you just ran a marathon while carrying your cousin on your back! The pooling blood makes them feel super heavy and achy. Keep those legs elevated while watching TV and go see a doc.

Yes, varicose veins make my legs ache so much, especially after standing in the kitchen preparing biryani for hours. Drinking enough water and reducing extra salty snacks helps slightly with the swelling, but getting it examined by a vascular doctor is a must.

My vascular specialist explained that damaged valves in varicose veins cause blood to pool against gravity, creating high pressure and causing throbbing pain and heaviness. He advised using compression stockings and avoiding long periods of standing. Please consult a doctor for a proper duplex ultrasound scan.

Yes, leg pain, throbbing, and a heavy feeling are very common symptoms of varicose veins due to poor venous circulation. While elevating your feet helps temporarily, consulting an experienced vascular surgeon is the most appropriate way to get a proper treatment plan.

I was looking this up recently for my father who has swollen purple veins on his calves. He complains of a dull, constant ache and cramping at night, which is apparently a very classic symptom of varicose veins. Planning to take him to a clinic soon.

Varicose veins are not just a cosmetic issue; the leg pain indicates poor blood flow. If ignored, it can sometimes lead to blood clots or painful ulcers. Please visit a vascular specialist as soon as possible for a proper diagnosis.
