Can vaping cause throat cancer?

My brother has been vaping for a long time, and he's developed a persistent cough and sore throat. My mom is terrified he might be at risk for something serious. Could long-term vaping actually lead to throat cancer?

I was told vaping is much safer than smoking, but now I'm reading it can cause throat cancer. Is this true even for nicotine-free vapes, or are all of them equally risky? Please share if anyone knows.

I have had a constant raspy voice and dry cough for three months and I vape daily. Now I am super anxious that it might be throat cancer. Has anyone else had these symptoms and gotten checked by a doctor?

We see a lot of anxiety around this. Research shows that e-cigarette vapor damages throat cells, which can lead to cancerous growths over the long term. Please quit vaping and have a doctor examine your throat if you notice any lasting pain or hoarseness.

Since I have thyroid issues, I have to be very careful with my throat and neck health. Vaping introduces severe carcinogens that can trigger throat malignancies. I suggest getting regular ENT checkups and discussing any persistent throat pain with a doctor.

Yes, it can. The aerosol from vapes contains formaldehyde and other heavy metals that can cause cellular mutations in your throat tissue over time. If you have a persistent sore throat or difficulty swallowing, please consult an ENT specialist immediately.

Don't fall for online claims that gargling with salt water will reverse the throat damage from vaping. If you are worried about throat cancer or chronic irritation, go to a proper clinic and get an endoscopy done by a doctor. That's the only safe way.
