Can urticaria cause fever?

I suddenly broke out in hives all over my body yesterday, and now I also feel a bit feverish. My mother said sometimes urticaria can come with fever. Is it common for urticaria (hives) to cause a fever, or should I be worried about something else, doc?

I was researching about hives recently because my cousin had them. Apparently, normal acute urticaria doesn't cause fever, but if you have both, it could mean there is an underlying viral infection triggering both the rash and the temperature.

I am having bad skin hives right now and my temperature is slightly warm too, is this normal? Has anyone else experienced a mild fever with urticaria, or should I be rushing to a specialist immediately?

I totally get it, dealing with itchy hives is already so exhausting and having a fever on top of that is just miserable. It is highly possible your body is reacting to an allergy or virus. Please take some rest and let a doctor check you.

I just got these red itchy patches for the first time today and feel a bit warm. Is it possible for urticaria to start with a mild fever, or does that mean it's something else like a flu? Sorry, I am a bit new to this.

I have to be very careful with my skin health because of my diabetes, and infections can trigger both hives and fever. If you are diabetic too, make sure to monitor your blood sugar levels as fever and stress can spike them easily.

I have dealt with chronic urticaria for years. A simple allergic breakout shouldn't cause a fever; if you have a fever, it is likely a viral infection triggering the hives. Keep your skin cool with calamine lotion and see your doctor.

Actually, typical urticaria alone doesn't cause fever. My doctor explained that if fever is present with hives, it often indicates an underlying systemic infection, or a condition like urticarial vasculitis. You should definitely get evaluated by a physician.

Do not start taking random home remedies or anti-allergy pills from the internet if you have both urticaria and fever. Fever with a rash can sometimes be serious. Go to a proper clinic and let a dermatologist or physician check you.

No, standard hives don't cause fever directly. If you have both, it is probably a viral infection, so please consult a doctor.

Yes, sometimes when the body's energy is fighting off an allergen, it can run a warm temperature. Keep your mind calm and positive, drink warm herbal tea, and let the doctor give you the right guidance.
