Can urine infection cause weight gain?

I've been getting recurring urine infections, and I also noticed I've gained some weight recently without changing much. Is there any connection between the two? Can a chronic urine infection somehow cause weight gain, or are these two separate issues?

A urine infection itself doesn't cause weight gain directly. However, bloat, water retention, and lack of activity because you feel unwell can make the scale go up temporarily. Just focus on hydration and clean eating once you recover.

No, weight gain isn't a symptom of a UTI. If you are experiencing both, it might be due to some other hormonal change or lifestyle shift. Instead of spending on fancy weight loss packages, get a basic urine and thyroid panel done first.

An active UTI does not cause weight gain. If you are noticing sudden weight changes along with urinary symptoms, it is best to consult a doctor to rule out kidney issues or endocrine imbalances like thyroid disorders.

A UTI won't cause weight gain, but ignoring urinary symptoms can lead to kidney complications which cause swelling and fluid buildup. Please get a proper medical checkup before things get complicated like they did for me.

Hey, don't worry, a UTI won't make you gain weight. You might just feel a bit bloated because of abdominal discomfort and drinking less water. Just focus on getting the infection treated first, and things will settle down.
