Can uri cause fever?

I have a bad cold with a runny nose and sore throat, and now I've developed a slight fever. My mother-in-law says it's normal for a URI, but I'm worried. Can an upper respiratory infection actually cause fever, or should I be concerned about something else?

Yes, absolutely! Upper respiratory infections very commonly cause mild to moderate fever as your body fights off the virus. Just take plenty of rest, drink warm soups, and you will be fine in a few days! 😊

In my experience, fever is just the body's natural defense mechanism during a cold or URI. Along with whatever the doctor prescribes, practicing simple deep breathing and taking warm steam inhalation helps open up the congestion beautifully.

Please don't ignore the fever thinking it's just a normal cold. I once sat at home with a 'simple cold and fever' for a week and it turned into severe bronchitis because I delayed seeing a doctor. Go get yourself checked early before it gets worse.

Haan bilkul, respiratory infection mein fever toh bohot normal hai na. Body match ladti hai virus se toh temperature badh jata hai. Bass thoda garam pani piyo aur dhang se rest karo, sab thik ho jayega.

Fever is basically your body's internal microwave trying to cook those annoying URI viruses! It is totally normal to run a temp when you have a bad cold, so don't panic. Just wear comfy PJs, grab some tissues, and watch your favorite show.

Yes child, fever is quite common when the throat or chest gets infected. Don't let your mind worry, just keep your thoughts positive, pray, and give your body the complete rest it is asking for right now.

Actually, yes, a URI frequently triggers a low-grade fever. My family physician explained that the immune system releases pyrogens to raise body temperature to stop viral replication. If the fever crosses 102 degrees or lasts more than 3 days, you must consult a doctor.

It definitely can cause fever, but don't rush to get expensive blood panels or viral tests on day one. Give it 2 days of basic paracetamol and steam first. If it doesn't go away, then look for a local pocket-friendly lab for routine tests to save some money.
