Can urgent care prescribe pain meds?

I twisted my ankle pretty badly and the pain is quite severe. I've heard urgent care centers can help with immediate injuries. Can they also prescribe stronger pain medication to help me cope until I see an orthopaedic specialist?

Yes, they can prescribe basic pain medicines. However, be careful with pain pills if you have blood pressure issues like me, as some can raise your BP. Always get your pressure checked and discuss your lifestyle with the doctor.

Dealing with chronic, intense pain is so exhausting and it really drains you mentally. Urgent care can prescribe moderate pain relievers to give you some comfort. Don't feel bad about needing help to manage the pain, your feelings are completely valid.

Yeah, they do. When I sprained my ankle playing football, I went to a local clinic and they prescribed me some strong pain relief tablets. They won't give you highly restricted meds easily, but standard painkillers are no problem.

Yes, they can write prescriptions for standard pain relief; just make sure to tell them about any other medications you are currently taking.

Yes, they can prescribe pain medications to help you feel better. Just don't worry, go to a nearby clinic and tell them exactly where it hurts. They will guide you safely on what dosage to take.
