Can urgent care help with kidney stones?

I've suffered from kidney stones before, and I think I'm having another attack because of the sharp pain. My regular urologist is out of town. Can an urgent care center provide treatment or help manage the pain while I wait to see my specialist?

Yes, they can. At my age, my body loves creating stones more than memories. They'll give you pain relief meds that actually work, so you don't have to roll around on the floor in agony. Go get help!

They can help manage the initial pain and check the stone size. To prevent them in the future, make sure you're staying hydrated, especially if you take protein supplements. Definitely get a doctor to check the exact scan first.

Yes, they can definitely help with pain relief and run basic tests to confirm if it is a kidney stone.

My son had a small kidney stone last year and the urgent care clinic was very helpful. They gave him IV fluids and pain meds, which calmed him down immediately. It's safe to go there for primary care and guidance.

Urgent care can help with the immediate pain, which is a blessing. But make sure to follow up with a nephrologist and get regular kidney function tests, just like I do for my thyroid. Continuous monitoring is key.
