Can urgent care diagnose kidney infection?

I've been having fever and back pain for a couple of days, and I'm worried it might be a kidney infection. Is an urgent care center equipped to diagnose something like this quickly, or do I definitely need to visit a larger hospital?

Yes, they absolutely can. They will run a quick urine test on the spot to check for bacteria and white blood cells, and can prescribe antibiotics right away. It's much faster than waiting for a hospital OPD appointment.

I actually had a kidney infection last month and went to a local medical center. They did a urine culture and started me on antibiotics immediately because I had a high fever and back pain. Don't delay it, the pain gets unbearable very fast.

They can diagnose it easily with a urine sample. If you have this infection, please rest completely and avoid any gym workouts or jogging. Once your doctor gives the green light after antibiotics, you can slowly start light walks again.

If you are short on time, urgent care is a good option. They can do basic urine screening in under an hour and give you a prescription. Just make sure to get the urine culture done too so you know the antibiotics are correct.

They can diagnose it quite quickly. Just a tip, while you are getting treated, skip the spicy street food and heavy biryani for a bit, even if you crave it. Stick to lots of coconut water and light food so your system can heal.
