Can urgent care check for heart attack?

My uncle had a sudden chest pain and he was rushed to an urgent care clinic. Thankfully it wasn't a heart attack. I was wondering, are urgent care centers equipped to check for a heart attack, or do they usually refer to a hospital?

Urgent care clinics can do a basic ECG, but they do not have the complete setup to treat a heart attack. If you have severe chest pain, sweating, or left arm pain, please don't go to a clinic. Go straight to the emergency room of a major hospital.

I once rushed to an urgent care clinic panicked about a heart attack, and they immediately did an ECG which thankfully came out normal (it was just severe acidity). They were very reassuring, but they told me clearly that for actual cardiac emergencies, going to an ER directly is always the safest choice.

Actually yaar, urgent care can run a quick ECG, but they lack the heavy cardiac equipment and ICU setup. If it's a real heart attack, every minute matters, so don't waste time there. Directly drive to a proper big hospital's emergency ward.

Please don't search online or wait around if someone is having symptoms of a heart attack. Urgent care clinics are for minor issues like sprains or mild flu. A suspected heart attack requires a fully equipped cardiac emergency room in a hospital with 24/7 cath labs.

When my father had mild chest discomfort, we went to a nearby clinic first. They took an ECG but immediately referred us to a cardiac hospital because they couldn't do advanced cardiac enzyme tests there. Based on that, I would suggest going directly to a hospital emergency.

I went through a cardiac scare recently and learned this the hard way. The clinic doctor told me that while they can diagnose basic issues with an ECG, they cannot treat a heart attack. If you have any red-flag symptoms like sudden breathlessness or chest pressure, go to a major hospital immediately.

I was reading about this. Urgent care centers can perform an electrocardiogram (ECG) to check your heart's rhythm, but they usually can't perform complex blood tests or handle a cardiac crisis. It's always advised to go to an ER for chest pain.

Oh, please be very careful about this. Urgent care might help with small issues, but a heart attack is a major emergency that needs a proper ICU and specialists. If you or anyone is feeling unwell, please go directly to a multi-specialty hospital's emergency room instead.
