Can ulcers cause cancer?

My father has been dealing with stomach ulcers for a while now, and he's generally quite anxious about his health. He recently read something online and is now worried, asking if ulcers can cause cancer. Is this a real concern?

Actually, my dad had a severe stomach ulcer last year and we got super scared about cancer. The doctor did an endoscopy and biopsy just to be safe and told us it was just a normal peptic ulcer caused by acidity and stress. So basically, normal ulcers don't become cancer, but you should still get an endoscopy done to be 100% sure.

Most common stomach ulcers do not turn into cancer, so please don't worry too much! 😊 However, some cancerous growths in the stomach can look like ulcers at first, and long-term H. pylori infections need to be treated. Just keep your routine checkups on track and stay happy! 👍

I completely understand how terrifying it is to think about cancer whenever you feel severe stomach pain or ulcers, the anxiety is so real. Most stomach ulcers are just from bacteria or painkillers and are completely benign. Please try to take a deep breath and let a doctor do a simple check to put your mind at ease.

Ulcer se darna nahi chahiye, par isko un-treated bhi nahi chhodna hai. Purane jamane me log thandi lassi ya saunf ka pani peete the pet ki jalan shant karne ke liye, jo thoda fayda deta hai. Par agar ulcer thik nahi ho raha hai, toh bade hospital jaakar doctor se dhyan se checkup karwana hi sabse sahi tareeka hai.

Standard peptic ulcers themselves do not transform into cancer. However, chronic inflammation caused by long-term H. pylori bacterial infection can sometimes increase the risk of gastric cancer over many years. It is highly recommended to get a proper endoscopy and follow the antibiotic course prescribed by your gastroenterologist.
