Can u sleep with contact lenses?

I sometimes forget to take my contact lenses out before sleeping, especially if I'm very tired. My ophthalmologist said not to, but is it really that bad? Can you sleep with contact lenses in occasionally?

It is highly recommended not to sleep with your contact lenses in. Doing so deprives your cornea of oxygen, which significantly increases the risk of severe eye infections. It's always best to follow your optometrist's advice and take them out before sleeping.

No, you should never sleep with contact lenses on. It can cause serious corneal ulcers and infections.

I once slept with my lenses on during a college trip and ended up with a severe corneal infection that took weeks to heal. If you are experiencing redness, pain, or watery eyes, please see an ophthalmologist immediately. Don't ignore eye issues.

Oh god, please don't do it! I get so paranoid even if I close my eyes for a 10-minute nap with lenses on. If you accidentally slept in them, remove them gently after putting some lubricating drops and keep your eyes bare for a day.
