Can u live without a kidney?

Someone was saying that if both your kidneys fail, you can't survive without a transplant or dialysis. Is it true that you absolutely cannot live without a kidney at all?

Without both kidneys, u can't survive naturally, u need dialysis or a transplant. My friend is on dialysis and honestly, the hardest part for him is managing the strict food cravings because you have to limit liquid and salty snacks so much.

Wait, do you mean living without even a single kidney? That requires dialysis to clean the blood, right? I get so anxious just thinking about how people manage this weekly routine, does anyone else get sleepless nights worrying about health stuff like this?

It is extremely tough when you first hear about complete kidney failure. I remember crying for days when we found out about my mom's condition, the anxiety of dialysis is real. Just hang in there, support from family makes the journey a bit easier.

Let's be direct, you cannot survive without any kidney function. You either need to be on regular dialysis or get a transplant done. If you or a family member is facing this, get in touch with a transplant coordinator at a major hospital immediately.

While you definitely need medical help like dialysis to survive without kidneys, many people live very active lives after a successful transplant! 😊 Keep your hopes high and stay positive, medical science has advanced a lot now!

I am actually very new to reading about this. Is it true that a person has to stay on dialysis forever if they don't get a donor? It sounds so scary, I hope everyone going through this finds a way out soon.

Since I have diabetes, I am always terrified of kidney issues because high sugar damages them. You can't live without any kidney unless you have artificial support. Please keep your blood sugar in check so you never have to face such a situation.

When we were at Apollo for my dad's treatment, the nephrologist clearly explained that zero kidney function requires immediate dialysis. Don't waste time looking for alternative therapies online. Ask your doctor clearly about the timeline for a transplant.

My cousin lost both his kidneys due to an infection and had to go for dialysis thrice a week. It was brutal, but then my aunt donated her kidney to him and now he is doing totally fine. So yes, with a transplant, life gets back on track.

Bhai, bina kidney ke toh insaan nahi jee sakta, dono kharab ho jayein toh dialysis karwana padta hai. Bhagwan sab theek kare, aap himmat mat harna aur kisi acche sarkari ya bade hospital ke doctor se baat karna.
