Can u have panic attacks in your sleep?

I sometimes wake up suddenly in the middle of the night feeling extremely anxious, heart racing, and can't catch my breath. My friend suggested these might be panic attacks. Can you really have panic attacks even when you're asleep?

Oh, absolutely. Waking up at 3 AM with your heart racing like you just ran a marathon while escaping a tiger is a classic. It's like your brain decides that sleeping is too peaceful and needs some unsolicited action!

I used to get these nocturnal panic attacks almost every week last year. Waking up gasping for air was terrifying, but once I started cognitive behavioral therapy and worked on my stress levels, they completely stopped. It gets better, I promise.

Haan bhai, mere sath bhi aisa hota tha. Sote sote achanak ghabrahat hoti thi aur dil tez dhadakne lagta tha. Thoda sa thanda pani pee lo aur lambi saans lo, sab theek ho jayega. Bhagwan par bharosa rakho.

I know exactly how terrifying this feels, and your feelings of fear are completely valid. It makes you scared to even go to sleep. But yes, nocturnal panic attacks are real, and they are just your body releasing built-up stress from the day.

Yes, they are called nocturnal panic attacks. My fitness band used to show huge heart rate spikes in the middle of the night during my exam days. Tracking my sleep quality and doing 10 minutes of deep breathing before bed really helped stabilize it.
