Can u have norovirus without vomiting?

Recently, many people in my locality had stomach bug symptoms like diarrhea and cramps, which the doctor said was norovirus. I also had the diarrhea and cramps, but I never vomited. Can you have norovirus without the vomiting symptom?

Yes, you can. Some people only get watery diarrhea and stomach cramps without actually throwing up, so just stay hydrated.

Oh God, stomach bugs are so exhausting and mentally draining. I had a terrible bout of what the doctor suspected was norovirus last year, and though I didn't vomit, the constant nausea and cramps made me feel so miserable. Stay strong, it passes in a few days.

Yes, definitely. I read that your body's immune response decides the symptoms, so some people might escape the vomiting part. But please keep washing your hands constantly because it is super contagious, and I always worry about passing it to others.

Haan, bilkul ho sakta hai. Merely getting diarrhea and mild fever is also quite common, na. Just drink lots of ORS water and coconut water so you don't get dehydrated, and rest properly ghar pe.

I was actually just looking this up because my roommate has a bad stomach ache and loose motions but no vomiting. It seems norovirus can present with just diarrhea, fever, and body aches in many cases. Fascinating how viruses affect everyone differently.

Yes, stomach infections can happen without vomiting. I usually take a glass of buttermilk with a pinch of roasted cumin powder to soothe the stomach during such times. However, if you see blood in stool or have severe dehydration, please consult a doctor immediately.
