Can u get eczema on your lips?

My lips have been extremely dry, chapped, and even a bit scaly for weeks now, and normal balms aren't helping. I've seen eczema on other parts of the body, but can you actually get eczema specifically on your lips?

Yes, you can absolutely get eczema on your lips. I had it once and realized some sour fruits and spicy food made the itching so much worse. Try to note down if any specific foods or even certain lip balms are triggering it before making big diet changes.

Haan na, lip eczema is so painful and annoying. My cousin had this last winter and her lips got totally dry and blackish. It is real, please don't scrub it or use hard cosmetics, just keep it moisturized.

My lips are so dry and flaky right now that smiling feels like a workout. Yes, it happens, and trying to sleep when your lips itch is a different kind of torture. Just apply some plain petroleum jelly and try not to lick your lips constantly like I do.

Honestly, do not go by random home remedies or ghee-honey tips you find online for this. Lip skin is very sensitive and could be allergic contact cheilitis or something else. Better to show a proper skin specialist instead of experimenting.

Omg, is this really eczema? I have been having this terrible dryness and red peeling around my lip corners for weeks and nothing is working. Did anyone else get this and how long did it take to clear up? I'm getting so stressed about it.

I went to a dermatologist at Manipal Hospital for a similar issue on my lips. They told me it was contact dermatitis from my new lipstick. Ask your doctor directly to help you identify the exact allergen so it doesn't keep coming back.

Beta, it is definitely possible, especially during seasonal changes when the air gets dry. I used to get this a lot in my younger days. Don't worry, just stop using scented products and let it heal naturally with some simple coconut oil.

Omg yes, I got this during my exams due to stress and cold weather! My lips looked so bad and applying lip gloss was literally impossible. Just stick to basic petroleum jelly and don't pick at the dry skin.

Yes, lip eczema is a real thing. I actually logged my symptoms on my health app and tracked my hydration levels, which helped me realize it flared up when I was dehydrated. Use a basic, fragrance-free lip balm with SPF.

It is actually called eczematous cheilitis and it is quite common. It can be triggered by toothpaste, lip balms, or even certain foods. Since the lip area is highly sensitive, consulting a dermatologist to get a mild, safe ointment is the best way forward.

Bro, yes! I got it last year and eating spicy golgappe was sheer torture because of the cuts on my lips. Had to tone down the spices and avoid pickles for a few weeks till it healed. Keep the lip balm handy!

Listen, first stop licking your lips thinking it will moisturize them, it only makes the eczema worse. Avoid all those fancy flavored lip balms. Just use plain yellow vaseline for a few days and if it still burns, go see a doctor.
