Can u get disability for diabetes?

My diabetes has been quite severe recently, leading to some complications that affect my ability to work. I've heard some people get disability benefits for chronic illnesses. Is it possible to get disability support in India if you have severe diabetes?

Hey, don't worry too much. Normal diabetes is highly manageable with a proper routine and doesn't count as a disability. But if someone is facing severe complications like diabetic retinopathy or neuropathy that affects daily functioning, they can apply under specific categories. Just take care of your health first, okay?

Honestly, if I could get a disability certificate for the amount of mental exhaustion I face just trying to avoid sweets, I'd be retired by now! But seriously, in India, you don't get disability just for having diabetes unless it has caused really severe, permanent damage to your organs like blindness.

Managing endocrine issues like thyroid and diabetes is a lifelong journey of regular tests. You won't get a disability certificate for standard diabetes. The best thing is to focus on your HbA1c tests, keep consulting your doctor regularly, and prevent any complications from starting.

If having diabetes meant getting disability benefits, half of our country's uncles would be on pension today! Jokes apart, unless there is a severe complication like kidney failure or permanent vision loss, simple diabetes doesn't qualify you for government disability benefits.

My father has had type 2 diabetes for 25 years. Our elders suggested so many herbs, but we stuck to our endocrinologist's advice. He lives a very active life; diabetes itself isn't classified as a disability here, but keeping your blood sugar stable will prevent the complications that actually lead to disability.

Haan na, standard diabetes ke liye toh certificate nahi milta. But agar severe complications ho jaye, like diabetic neuropathy jisse chalne me bohot dikkat ho, tab standard procedures follow karke check karna padta hai. Proper checkup is must.

Diabetes is definitely not a disability unless it's a very advanced stage with complications. Honestly, with a clean high-protein diet, strength training, and active lifestyle, many people manage to completely reverse their pre-diabetes or keep type 2 heavily under control. Stay active!

When I was getting my annual health checkup at Kokilaben Hospital, I asked about this. The doctor clearly explained that simple diabetes is not classified as a disability under Indian law. If you have severe complications like diabetic retinopathy with significant vision loss, then you can apply for a disability certificate through proper channels.

In our group here, many ask this. Standard type 2 diabetes is very common and not considered a disability under government guidelines. Only if it causes extreme, permanent damage to your eyes or limbs can you get a certificate. Focus on daily walks and keeping your sugars under 140!

Don't blindly believe people online who claim you can easily get government benefits or disability for basic diabetes. That is not how Indian laws work. Unless there is serious organ damage certified by a government medical board, it is not possible. Talk to a proper social worker or doctor at a civil hospital.

I totally get it, sometimes managing diabetes gets so tiring and heavy that it feels like a major physical burden. But standard diabetes won't qualify for government disability. Please take care of yourself, and don't hesitate to lean on friends and family for support.

My dad has had diabetes for like 15 years now and he still goes to office and lives a totally normal life. You don't get a disability certificate for it unless something really bad happens to your organs. It's just a lifestyle thing you have to manage.

I know how stressful it is to receive a diabetes diagnosis, and it's completely normal to feel overwhelmed and look up all possible scenarios. Please take a deep breath. It is highly treatable and most people lead perfectly active, normal working lives without needing any disability support.

No need to worry! Diabetes is super common and completely manageable with the right lifestyle and medical guidance. You definitely won't need a disability certificate if you stay active and keep a positive attitude! Take care!

I was also wondering about this because my sugar levels have been fluctuating wildly lately and I feel so weak. Does anyone else get so exhausted from their diabetes that they struggle to get through a normal work day? It's really stressful.
