Can u get asthma later in life?

My mother, who is in her late 50s, has recently started having breathing difficulties and a persistent cough. Her doctor mentioned it might be adult-onset asthma. Is it possible for people to get asthma much later in life, even if they never had it as children?

Yes, you can get it at any age. My husband was diagnosed with asthma in his late 30s, even though no one in his family had it. We had to make sure our home is free of dust mites and pet hair, which helped him breathe much better. Do get a proper checkup done for peace of mind.

Yes, adult-onset asthma is very possible. Along with medical treatments, incorporating anti-inflammatory foods like ginger, garlic, and turmeric into your daily meals can help soothe the airways. Avoid cold drinks and heavy processed foods that might trigger mucus production.

Yes, it's called adult-onset asthma and can be triggered by various factors like allergies, chemical exposure, or hormonal changes. Self-diagnosis online can cause unnecessary anxiety. It is best to visit a pulmonologist who can do a pulmonary function test to confirm.

It can definitely happen later in life. While I always use steam inhalation with eucalyptus oil and warm ginger tea to soothe my throat, please don't rely only on home remedies for asthma. A proper inhaler prescribed by a pulmonologist is absolutely necessary for safety.

My sister developed asthma in her late 40s out of nowhere. We were very worried back then, but she has been using her inhaler regularly and leading a very active life for twenty years now. Don't let the diagnosis scare you, modern medicine makes it very easy to live with.

Haan babu, umar badhne par bhi duma (asthma) ki bimari ho sakti hai. Aaj kal shehron ki hawa aur dhool-mitti ki wajah se bohot logon ko saas lene me takleef hone lagti hai. Doctor sahib ko dikha lo, dawayi se bilkul aaram mil jayega.

Yes, late-onset asthma is possible. When managing such respiratory issues, it is very important to keep your blood pressure and weight under control, as excess weight makes breathing even harder. Get a regular full-body checkup and keep a healthy routine.

I totally panicked when I started wheezing at age 32, thinking it was something life-threatening. But when the doctor diagnosed it as mild adult asthma and gave me a preventive inhaler, I realized it is incredibly common and manageable. Don't worry, once you start treatment, you will feel completely fine.

I was actually researching this recently because my dad has been coughing a lot lately. It turns out adult-onset asthma is super real and can be triggered by sudden environmental changes, stress, or even after a bad viral infection. It's quite fascinating but definitely needs a doctor's visit.

Actually, adult asthma is very common in polluted cities like Mumbai, yaar. I know so many colleagues who started wheezing only after moving here. Just get the right inhaler from a good doc and don't worry, it's totally manageable.

Hey, don't stress too much about this. Yes, you can get asthma later in life, but it is super common and totally treatable. Just get a quick checkup with a doctor, get your inhaler sorted, and you'll be running around and enjoying life just like before!
