Can u develop asthma later in life?

My mother recently started experiencing breathing difficulties, and the doctor suspects asthma. She's in her 50s and never had it before. Can you develop asthma later in life, even if you never had it as a child?

Yes, adult-onset asthma is a recognized medical condition that can develop at any age. Please visit a well-equipped hospital and ask a pulmonologist to perform a lung function test for a clear diagnosis.

Ho na, actually my uncle developed it at 45 because of severe dust allergies. It is better to get it checked by a doc early so you don't struggle unnecessarily.

Drinking warm ginger-turmeric tea can help soothe minor throat irritation and airway congestion. However, since developing breathing issues later in life can be serious, you must consult a doctor for a proper inhaler prescription.

Honestly, my PG roommate suddenly developed breathing issues during exams and found out it was asthma. It's totally a thing, just get it checked out by a clinic.

Agree with everyone, developing it as an adult is quite common now, so visiting a specialist is your best next step.

As if adulting wasn't hard enough, our lungs also decide to throw a tantrum later in life! Yes, it's possible, but don't panic, modern inhalers make it super easy to manage.

It can certainly develop later in life due to various health changes. Just make sure any cough syrups prescribed by your doctor are sugar-free if you are managing other metabolic health issues.

My doctor explained that adult-onset asthma is often triggered by allergies, workplace dust, or respiratory infections. He advised getting a spirometry test done to assess the exact level of airway obstruction.

My son has suffered from asthma since childhood, so I know how stressful breathing issues are. It definitely can happen to adults too, so please keep your surroundings dust-free and see a specialist soon.

I developed mild asthma in my late 50s due to winter smog, beta. Don't worry, with proper inhalers and a disciplined lifestyle, it won't affect your daily life much.

Yes, you can! I track my cardio sessions on my fitness app and noticed a drop in lung capacity before being diagnosed. Keep an eye on your peak flow readings and consult a doctor.
