Can type 2 diabetes inherited?

Both my parents and my maternal grandmother have Type 2 diabetes. I'm very worried about getting it myself. Is Type 2 diabetes something that runs in families, meaning it's inherited, or can I prevent it even with family history?

Oh my god, both my parents have diabetes and I constantly worry that I will get it too. It keeps me up at night. But I try to support others by saying we can manage our risk with early checkups and healthy eating.

Actually, yes, yaar. Family history plays a huge role in Type 2 diabetes. If both your parents have it, the risk is quite high. But honestly, lifestyle changes can totally prevent it from triggering, so don't stress.

While inheritance is true, you can prevent it by drinking methi water daily and cutting down on white rice. But if you already have symptoms like frequent urination or extreme thirst, please see a doctor immediately for a proper checkup.

Yes, genetics do play a part! 🧬 But don't worry, you can easily beat the family history with regular walks and less junk food. Keep a positive attitude and stay active! ☀️

I panicked when I was told diabetes runs in my family, thinking my fate was sealed. But later I realized that genetics is just a loaded gun, and our lifestyle pulls the trigger. Keeping active and eating right makes it completely manageable.
