Can type 2 diabetes cause missed periods?

I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, and around the same time, my periods have become very irregular, sometimes missing completely. Could there be a connection? I'm worried if Type 2 diabetes can affect my menstrual cycle.

Hey, don't stress too much! Yes, high insulin resistance can totally mess up your cycle and cause missed periods. Try to relax, focus on eating healthy, and definitely book a doctor's visit to get your levels checked. It is very common and manageable, trust me.

Actually, I was reading that insulin resistance in Type 2 diabetes is closely linked to PCOS, which is a major cause of irregular or missed periods. The high insulin levels can affect the ovaries and stop ovulation. It's really interesting how connected our hormones are.

My periods completely stopped for three months when my HbA1c shot up to 8.5. Once I brought my sugar down with proper lifestyle changes and doctor's guidance, my cycle became regular again. It takes time, but your body will heal.

I tried drinking ginger tea and cinnamon water for my missed periods, but they only helped slightly. Real relief came only when I strictly managed my daily rice intake and walked 40 minutes daily to control my sugar. Home remedies are good, but sugar control is the real cure.

Let's be direct: metabolic issues like diabetes absolutely disrupt your menstrual cycle. It's an endocrine system issue, not just a lifestyle glitch. Don't sit around hoping it resolves naturally; consult both a gynaecologist and an endocrinologist.

Please don't try self-treating irregular periods with random herbs you see online. Missed periods can be due to diabetes, thyroid, or PCOS, and only a doctor can diagnose it properly after blood tests. Schedule an appointment and get professional advice.
