Can tylenol cause elevated liver enzymes?

My recent blood test showed slightly elevated liver enzymes, and my doctor asked if I'm taking any medications. I occasionally take Tylenol for headaches or body aches. Can Tylenol cause my liver enzymes to go up, even with irregular use?

Yes, taking too much Tylenol can definitely impact your liver. I always consult the specialists at Max Hospital before taking any OTC meds for a long time. Please get a proper liver function test and ask your doctor clearly about this.

Please don't worry too much. If you have only taken it occasionally in the correct dose, it is usually fine. Just stop taking it for now and have a quiet chat with your doctor to ease your mind.

Heavy chemical medicines do put a load on our liver. I always try to practice daily Pranayama and drink warm water to keep my digestion and liver healthy naturally. Please be very gentle with your body and avoid popping pills unless absolutely necessary.

Actually, my doctor has asked me to get a liver function test because of some mild pain. I have been taking Tylenol for headaches recently. Can this medicine alter my test results? Pls help if anyone knows.

Acetaminophen, which is the active ingredient in Tylenol, is metabolized by the liver. My doctor explained that even slightly exceeding the recommended daily limit of 4000mg can cause liver enzymes like ALT and AST to spike. Always stick to the prescribed dosage.
