Can twins feel each other's pain?

My twin daughters are three years old now, and sometimes if one gets hurt, the other one also gets upset or starts crying without seeing it happen. It makes me wonder, can twins actually feel each other's pain or emotions sometimes?

It is such a fascinating topic! While there is no scientific proof that they feel physical pain, twins definitely share an amazing emotional bond and can sense when the other is sad or stressed! It is like magic.

Twins share a very deep energetic connection because they spent nine months together in the womb. While they don't share physical nerve endings to feel actual pain, their minds are often highly synchronized to each other's emotions.

Biologically, they have separate nervous systems, so they don't feel physical pain. But they are often workout partners or grew up doing everything together, which builds a crazy level of empathy and mental connection.

As a father of identical twin boys, I can tell you there is no telepathy. If one scrapes his knee, the other doesn't cry from pain, but he will run over to help his brother immediately because of their extremely close bond.

Physiologically, it's impossible since their brains and nerves are totally separate. But their empathy levels are off the charts because they share identical environments and DNA, which makes it look like they feel the same things.

In villages, people talk a lot about twin connection, but it is mostly just deep love and caring for each other. If one of your twins is feeling unwell or in severe pain, please don't rely on connection theories and take them to a doctor.
