Can turmeric cause stomach pain?

I started drinking warm water with a pinch of turmeric every morning for immunity a couple of weeks ago. But for the last few days, I've been feeling a dull stomach ache after having it. Could the turmeric be causing this stomach pain?

Yes, it definitely can if taken in large quantities or on an empty stomach. I used to take raw turmeric for my health, but it gave me severe acidity and stomach burning. Now I stick to simple home-cooked food and regular medical checkups.

Oh, I was just searching about this! I started drinking haldi water every morning and my stomach has been cramping so badly since yesterday. Has anyone else experienced stomach pain after starting turmeric?

Yes, turmeric stimulates gastric acid production, which can lead to upset stomach, reflux, or cramping in sensitive individuals. It is best to consult a doctor if the pain persists, as it could also be due to an underlying gastritis issue.

Honestly, the same thing happened to me when I tried that 'turmeric tea' trend last winter. My stomach started burning so much! I stopped it and went back to normal food, and the pain vanished in a day.

Haan na, raw haldi sometimes doesn't suit everyone's tummy. It can cause acidity or mild stomach ache if it is too strong. Better to have it with milk or just in dal-rice, ho na.

Dekho yaar, har cheez ki ek limit hoti hai. Haldi garam hoti hai taaseer me. Agar khali pet chammach bhar ke khaoge toh pet me jalan hogi hi. Khane me thoda sa dalo, faltu ka nuskha band karo.

In my sixty years, I have seen that turmeric is highly heating for the body. If you take too much of it, it will surely cause stomach irritation or loose motions. Reduce the quantity to just a small pinch in your food and you will be fine.
