Can turmeric cause kidney stones?

I've had kidney stones in the past, and I'm very careful about my diet now. I also consume turmeric daily because I heard it has many benefits. But I'm worried if it might contribute to forming new kidney stones.

I can only share what happened to me. I was taking a teaspoon of raw haldi every morning for joint stiffness and got diagnosed with a kidney stone six months later. My doctor told me to stop the raw powder immediately.

Actually, yes, it can. Turmeric is quite rich in oxalates, which can bind to calcium in your body and form calcium oxalate stones. If you have a history of stones, please limit your turmeric intake to normal kitchen use and avoid supplements.

Yes, too much turmeric can definitely increase the risk of kidney stones because of its oxalate content! Just stick to the delicious pinch in your daily cooking and drink lots of water to stay safe and hydrated!

Bro, my dad had kidney stones and the doc literally told him to cut down on spinach, tea, and high-dose turmeric. Normal haldi in dal is fine but don't go drinking haldi shots like those wellness influencers suggest.

I have dealt with calcium oxalate stones twice in my life. Let me tell you, heavy turmeric intake is a big trigger if you are prone to them. Limit your daily haldi, drink at least 3 liters of water, and add some fresh lemon juice to your routine.
