Can trt cause erectile dysfunction?

My doctor suggested I consider TRT because my testosterone levels are low. But I read online that sometimes it can cause erectile dysfunction, which seems counterintuitive. Is this a real possibility I should be aware of?

I completely panicked when I faced this a few weeks into starting TRT. But my doctor assured me it's just the body's natural hormones adjusting to the external testosterone. Once my dosage was balanced, everything went back to normal, so don't worry.

Yes, it can happen if your estrogen levels spike. Before you spend a lot of money on expensive ED pills, get a proper blood panel done to check your free testosterone and estradiol levels. It is much cheaper to fix the hormone balance.

I completely understand how stressful and scary this must feel for you right now. It can make you feel very anxious about your health. But yes, TRT can temporarily cause ED if your hormone levels are not balanced properly yet. Talk to your clinic, they can fix this.

I had severe issues because my hematocrit levels shot up during TRT, which affected my blood flow. Do not ignore these symptoms. Please go see your endocrinologist immediately to get your blood counts and hormone levels checked.

I just started TRT last month and I am experiencing this now, which is making me super anxious. Has anyone else gone through this phase in the beginning? Does it get better on its own or do I need to change my dose?

Yes, it can happen if your estrogen or prolactin levels go out of range during the therapy. A quick doctor consult will help resolve this.

I was researching TRT online and apparently, if your dose is too high, it converts to estrogen, which can actually cause ED instead of helping it. It seems like a very delicate balancing act that only a good doctor can manage.
